How to do the everyday things in Farlow, one task per page, with the names of the buttons as they appear in the app.
For directors
- Invite a parent to sign in to FarlowA parent gets an email with a link to set a password. From then on they see their child's day, messages and bills.
- Make a sign-up sheet for conferencesFamilies pick their own time from home. You set the times once.
- Put your inquiry form and tours on your websiteOne link takes inquiries from your website, a flyer or an email signature. New families can book a tour in the same step.
- Message a room or several families at onceWrite it once. Every family you tick gets it in its own private conversation, and replies come back to you one by one.
- Set up a tuition plan and put a child on itA plan is the rate and how often it is billed. Children are put on it from their own page, with the date it starts.
- Add a child to FarlowA name, a birthday and a room are enough to start. The rest can be filled in on the child's page later.
- Add a teacher or other staff memberThey are on your team right away, and an email lets them choose their own password.
- Download all of your center's recordsOne ZIP file of spreadsheets, whenever you want it, whether or not you subscribe.
For teachers
- Send a child's daily report to the familyThe report is the child's day as it was logged. You choose who it goes to.
- Write an incident report and get it signedThe report goes to the family in the app, and their acknowledgment is kept with it.
- Log a meal, nap or diaper for the whole roomOne tap logs it for every child checked in to the room right now. Fix the exceptions afterwards.
- Clock in and out of your shiftClocking in to a room puts you in that room's ratio count.
- Request time off, and approve itA teacher asks on the Time off page; the director answers on the same page.
- Add a photo to a child's dayA photo goes in as an entry in the child's day, with a note if you like.
- Read your rooms' ratiosEach room shows the adults clocked in, the children checked in, and whether that is within ratio.
For families
- Check in your child at the front doorAt the door there is a tablet. Your family's four-digit code is all you need.
- Pay a bill and turn on automatic paymentsYour invoices are under Billing. Card details go to the payment page, never into the app.
- Tell the center your child is not coming inIt goes straight onto the room's list, so nobody at the center has to read a message and remember it.
- Book a conference time for your childWhen your center opens a sign-up, it shows on your home screen with the times still free.
- Message your child's teachersEach child has one conversation with the center. The room's teachers and the office read it and reply there.
