Child care software for North Carolina centers
The parts of running a center that depend on your state, set up for North Carolina instead of left for you to build.
Immunizations by your state's schedule
Each child's vaccines are checked against the CDC childhood schedule for their age, so the office sees who is due.
North Carolina licensing forms, ready to send to families
2 official forms, fetched from the state's own site and kept in Farlow's form library. Pick one, mark where the answers go, and families fill it in and sign on their phone, with reminders until it comes back. Each name below opens the form on the state's own site.
North Carolina DHHS, Division of Child Development and Early Education
- Child's Application for Enrollment (1 page, checked )
- Medication Administration Permission Form and Log (2 pages, checked )
The date by each form is the day Farlow last matched it against the state's site. A weekly check flags any link that stops working or whose file changes. States revise their forms, and the state's site has the current one.
Staff-child ratios in North Carolina
From North Carolina Child Care Rules, 10A NCAC 09 .0713, Staff/Child Ratios for Centers, single-age groups (Paragraph (a)). In Farlow you set these bands once, and every room is counted against them as children check in and out.
| Age | Children per staff member | Largest group |
|---|---|---|
| Birth to 12 months | 5 | 10 |
| 12 to 24 months | 6 | 12 |
| 2 to 3 years | 10 | 20 |
| 3 to 4 years | 15 | 25 |
| 4 to 5 years | 20 | 25 |
| 5 years and older | 25 | 25 |
In a group of mixed ages, the youngest child's ratio and group size apply to the whole group (10A NCAC 09 .0713(a)(1)).
These are the numbers for single-age groups. A center may instead use the state's multi-age table after telling the Division in writing, and centers in a residence have their own numbers (.0713(b) to (d)). Children of all ages may be together in the first and last hour of the day.
Read on November 1, 2026 from the state's published rule. The rule itself is what an inspector goes by.
