Child care software for South Dakota centers
The parts of running a center that depend on your state, set up for South Dakota instead of left for you to build.
Immunizations by your state's schedule
Each child's vaccines are checked against the CDC childhood schedule for their age, so the office sees who is due.
South Dakota licensing forms, ready to send to families
1 official form, fetched from the state's own site and kept in Farlow's form library. Pick one, mark where the answers go, and families fill it in and sign on their phone, with reminders until it comes back. Each name below opens the form on the state's own site.
South Dakota DSS, Office of Licensing and Accreditation
- Child Medication Permission and Administration Form (OLA-107) (2 pages, checked )
The date by each form is the day Farlow last matched it against the state's site. A weekly check flags any link that stops working or whose file changes. States revise their forms, and the state's site has the current one.
Staff-child ratios in South Dakota
From Administrative Rules of South Dakota 67:42:17, Child Care Services, 67:42:17:21 and 67:42:17:22. In Farlow you set these bands once, and every room is counted against them as children check in and out.
| Age | Children per staff member | Largest group |
|---|---|---|
| Up to three years | 5 | No limit set |
| Three through four years | 10 | No limit set |
| Five years and over | 15 | No limit set |
In a group of mixed ages, the ratio for the age of most of the children applies; with 3 or more children under 3 in the group, the youngest child's ratio applies (ARSD 67:42:17:22).
The mixed-age rule shown is for centers with more than 20 children in a mixed group. A program of 20 or fewer that routinely mixes ages is 1:10, with at most four under two and two under one per provider. There is no group size by age; room capacity applies (67:42:17:19, :22).
Read on October 29, 2026 from the state's published rule. The rule itself is what an inspector goes by.
