Child care software for Vermont centers
The parts of running a center that depend on your state, set up for Vermont instead of left for you to build.
Immunizations by your state's schedule
Each child's vaccines are checked against the CDC childhood schedule for their age, so the office sees who is due.
Staff-child ratios in Vermont
From Vermont Licensing Regulations for Center Based Child Care and Preschool Programs, 6.2 (effective April 17, 2022). In Farlow you set these bands once, and every room is counted against them as children check in and out.
| Age | Children per staff member | Largest group |
|---|---|---|
| Birth to 18 months | 4 | 8 |
| 18 to 30 months | 4 | 10 |
| 24 to 36 months | 5 | 10 |
| 32 to 42 months | 6 | 15 |
| 36 months to kindergarten | 10 | 20 |
| 1st grade and up | 13 | 26 |
In a group of mixed ages, the youngest child's ratio and group size apply to the whole group (Vermont CBCCPP rule 6.2.2).
The age rows overlap as the rule writes them: a group whose children all fit one row uses that row, so a room of 24 to 36 month olds is 1:5 with a group of 10. A second adult must be on site when seven or more children are present (6.2.1.3, 6.2.4.5).
Read on October 29, 2026 from the state's published rule. The rule itself is what an inspector goes by.
