Child care software for Texas centers
The parts of running a center that depend on your state, set up for Texas instead of left for you to build.
Immunizations by your state's schedule
Each child's vaccines are checked against the CDC childhood schedule for their age, so the office sees who is due.
Texas licensing forms, ready to send to families
6 official forms, fetched from the state's own site and kept in Farlow's form library. Pick one, mark where the answers go, and families fill it in and sign on their phone, with reminders until it comes back. Each name below opens the form on the state's own site.
Texas Health and Human Services, Child Care Regulation
- Form 2550, Operational Policy on Infant Safe Sleep (2 pages, checked )
- Form 7239, Incident or Illness Report (2 pages, checked )
- Form 2935, Admission Information (Sections 1 to 2) (1 page, checked )
- Form 2935, Admission Information (Sections 3 to 14) (1 page, checked )
- Form 3019, Infant Sleep Exception/Health Care Professional Recommendation (1 page, checked )
- Form 1099, Operational Discipline and Guidance Policy (1 page, checked )
The date by each form is the day Farlow last matched it against the state's site. A weekly check flags any link that stops working or whose file changes. States revise their forms, and the state's site has the current one.
Staff-child ratios in Texas
From 26 TAC Chapter 746, Minimum Standards for Child-Care Centers, §746.1601 (classroom ratio) and §746.1609 (maximum group size): centers with 13 or more children in care. In Farlow you set these bands once, and every room is counted against them as children check in and out.
| Age | Children per staff member | Largest group |
|---|---|---|
| 0 - 11 months | 4 | 10 |
| 12 - 17 months | 5 | 13 |
| 18 - 23 months | 9 | 18 |
| 2 years | 11 | 22 |
| 3 years | 15 | 30 |
| 4 years | 18 | 35 |
| 5 years | 22 | 35 |
| 6 - 8 years | 26 | 35 |
| 9 - 13 years | 26 | 35 |
In a group of mixed ages, list the children from youngest to oldest; the age of the child halfway down the list sets the ratio and group size for the whole group (§746.1603).
These are the numbers for centers with 13 or more children. The ratio is one caregiver's children (§746.1601); the largest group is what two or more caregivers may supervise (§746.1609). Smaller centers use a different chart (§746.1701).
Read on October 14, 2026 from the state's published rule. The rule itself is what an inspector goes by.
