Child care software for Washington centers
The parts of running a center that depend on your state, set up for Washington instead of left for you to build.
Immunizations by your state's schedule
Each child's vaccines are checked against the CDC childhood schedule for their age, so the office sees who is due.
Washington licensing forms, ready to send to families
1 official form, fetched from the state's own site and kept in Farlow's form library. Pick one, mark where the answers go, and families fill it in and sign on their phone, with reminders until it comes back. Each name below opens the form on the state's own site.
Washington DCYF, Early Learning Licensing
- Child Care Medication Authorization Form (DCYF 15-968) (1 page, checked )
The date by each form is the day Farlow last matched it against the state's site. A weekly check flags any link that stops working or whose file changes. States revise their forms, and the state's site has the current one.
Staff-child ratios in Washington
From Washington Administrative Code 110-300-0356, Center capacity, ratio, and group size. In Farlow you set these bands once, and every room is counted against them as children check in and out.
| Age | Children per staff member | Largest group |
|---|---|---|
| Infants, birth through 11 months | 4 or 3 | 8 or 9 |
| Toddlers, 12 through 29 months | 7 or 5 | 14 or 15 |
| Preschoolers, 30 months until kindergarten | 10 | 20 |
| School age, kindergarten through 12 years | 15 | 30 |
Where two numbers are given, the rule lets the center choose: the first ratio goes with the first group size.
In a group of mixed ages, the youngest child's ratio and group size apply to the whole group (WAC 110-300-0356(6)).
Age groups stay apart except in the first two or last two hours of the day, when the youngest child's ratio and group size apply. A child five or older in kindergarten may be in the preschool or the school-age group, with the parent's agreement (110-300-0356(6), (7)).
Read on October 29, 2026 from the state's published rule. The rule itself is what an inspector goes by.
