Child care software for Ohio centers
The parts of running a center that depend on your state, set up for Ohio instead of left for you to build.
Immunizations by your state's schedule
Each child's vaccines are checked against the CDC childhood schedule for their age, so the office sees who is due.
Ohio licensing forms, ready to send to families
2 official forms, fetched from the state's own site and kept in Farlow's form library. Pick one, mark where the answers go, and families fill it in and sign on their phone, with reminders until it comes back. Each name below opens the form on the state's own site.
Ohio Department of Children and Youth
- Child Enrollment Form for Early Care and Education Programs (DCY 01234) (2 pages, checked )
- Health Care Plan Documentation and Permission to Administer Medication (DCY 01236) (4 pages, checked )
The date by each form is the day Farlow last matched it against the state's site. A weekly check flags any link that stops working or whose file changes. States revise their forms, and the state's site has the current one.
Staff-child ratios in Ohio
From Ohio Administrative Code 5180:2-12-18, Group size and ratios for a licensed child care center, Appendix A. In Farlow you set these bands once, and every room is counted against them as children check in and out.
| Age | Children per staff member | Largest group |
|---|---|---|
| Young infants, birth to 12 months | 5 | 12 |
| Older infants, 12 to 18 months | 6 | 12 |
| Young toddlers, 18 months to 2 1/2 years | 7 | 14 |
| Older toddlers, 2 1/2 to 3 years | 8 | 16 |
| Young preschoolers, 3 years | 12 | 24 |
| Older preschoolers, 4 years until kindergarten | 14 | 28 |
| Young schoolagers, kindergarten to 11 years | 18 | 36 |
| Older schoolagers, 11 to 15 years | 20 | 40 |
In a group of mixed ages, the youngest child's ratio and group size apply to the whole group (OAC 5180:2-12-18(B)(1)).
Young infants may also be 2 staff to 12 in one room. One child two and a half or older placed with the next older group uses that group's numbers, and all ages may be together when the center has twelve or fewer children (5180:2-12-18(B)(2), (3)).
Read on October 29, 2026 from the state's published rule. The rule itself is what an inspector goes by.
